Who is Panalipdan-SMR?

Panalipdan-SMR is a Davao-based environmental campaign and education center dealing with threats to the environment and the people in the region. It was formed in response to the deteriorating condition of the Philippine environment, characterized by the intensified and continued plunder of the country’s natural resources, threats on our national patrimony by the entry of foreign multinational and transnational corporations and local companies, and an ominous threat on the well-being and future of the people.

Panalipdan-SMR takes positions on environmental concerns; conducts educational activities such as fora, round-table discussions, small group discussions, and teach-ins; carry out campaigns and advocacy work including lobbying, policy advocacy, and other creative popular forms of disseminating information on environmental concerns.

It was founded on April 25, 2008 as part of the Earth Day commemoration in Davao City. Environment enthusiasts from the academe and various NGOs fill up Holy Child School of Davao's AVR.
